Let The Waves Do The Work
Sound healing and sound baths are quickly becoming a popular therapy to release tension and move into resonant states of consciousness. In Ayurveda and Yoga we recognize layers, or sheaths, to the body ranging from dense (bones, tissue, etc) to the subtle (prana/life force, mind, emotion, and intellect). Sound plays an integral role in the healing of the subtle aspects of the body (which then affect the physical).
Everything we’ve ever experienced in our lives is recorded in the cells of the body as well as the subtle aspects of the body mentioned above. In western terms, we recognize the area of low-level electromagnetism around the body where this information is stored as the biofield. Through working with sounds like mantra, vocal toning, and tuning forks, and singing bowls, we can affect the physical body, the emotions, and the mind through various sound frequencies. This then supports the free-flow of prana (life force) through the biofield, the energetic channels (nadis or meridians) of the body, and individual cells.
Using tuning forks (weighted and unweighted) applied on and around the body, on marma points, charkras and the biofield as a whole, we reintegrate chaotic, stuck, or stagnant patterns of energy to restore coherance to the body.
Ayurvedic Sound Sessions support:
Improved flow of prana/chi
Processing of stress, trauma, and stuck patterns of thought
Sleep
Adrenal imbalance
Right relationship with time
Various physical, mental, and spiritual imbalances
This is modality can be used in conjunction with therapies like psychotherapy, physical therapy, and other holistic or traditional practices. Because of its ability to move stuck, stagnant, or disorganized prana in the subtle body, sound work can provide substantial shifts that extend to the physical body. Everything is connected and this is a very special practice to utilize on your healing journey.

What To Expect In a Session
I use mantra and tuning forks for my sessions which support the release and regulation of prana in a client’s energy channels and biofield.
Clients are fully clothed throughout the session and struck tuning forks are held around the body. In some cases, the end of the forks will be placed on marma points (lesser chakras), delivering the vibratory benefits directly to these potent healing centers.
I may use breathe and/or Vedic mantras to aid in the regulation of prana.
Client’s will be occasionally guided to breathe through the session to aid in the circulation of energy.
Starting at the periphery of the energetic field (the biofield), sound will be used to identify areas/patterns of “stuck” energy. It will also be used to release these areas for better movement through the subtle field of the body.
During the sound session impressions, sensations, and even visions or auditory events can be experienced by both the client and the practitioner. These instances may be communicated or not. It is up to you as to how much or little you would like to discuss what is being experienced.
Strong emotions can, and often do, arise during a session. When they do, I support your processing of emotion through breath and bodywork.
Sessions can be either 30 or 60 minutes and can be added to Ayurvedic consultations, both virtual and in-person. Yes, we can do this work remotely as well.
Sound sessions are suitable for all, including children and the elderly. There are some contraindications but, largely, forks are appropriate for most. I do not use tuning forks on pregnant folks as the fields of mother and baby should not be disturbed during this time. Contact me for more information if you have questions.
